A grandeza intelectual de Ratzinger ultrapassa as barreiras confessionais. é um desses homens saúde frágil que vivem muitos anos. Pelo se nota, ele retira força e motivo para viver sua fé. Neste artigo, no primeiro capítulo, o autor faz uma síntese sobre a carreira eclesiástica acadêmica Joseph Ratzinger; segundo aborda Concílio Vaticano II (1962–1965), qual teólogo alemão foi nomeado, por Paulo VI (1897–1978), oficial ou peritus; terceiro explica-se como antes do Papado; quarto depois Papado. Por fim, quinto são citados alguns temas interesse da pesquisa Ratzinger. Nestas reflexões, chama atenção estilo comunicação Ratzinger: escritor erudito, fala diretamente com os seus leitores, descendo ao “nível” cada respondendo suas dúvidas. Quem lê textos Ratzinger, em mais cinquenta anos escritor, percebe permaneceu mesmo – homem acessível manteve-se caminho fé na direção próximo.
